WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., March 12, 2007 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- United Online®, Inc. (Nasdaq:UNTD), a leading provider of consumer Internet and media services, today announced that it has expanded its NetZero® Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) broadband Internet service into major metropolitan areas serviced by Covad Communications Group, Inc. (AMEX:DVW). Through its NetZero and Juno brands, United Online provides Internet access and email services to millions of members nationwide.

NetZero DSL broadband service launched in November 2006. With the addition of Covad's broadband network, NetZero DSL is now available to customers in 49 major metropolitan areas.

"This expansion of NetZero DSL demonstrates our commitment to giving our customers who want a broadband experience the ability to easily upgrade from dial-up while retaining their NetZero email address and the peace of mind they get from being a NetZero customer," said Mark R. Goldston, chairman and chief executive officer of United Online. "We launched the service regionally in the fourth quarter last year and now, with the addition of Covad's network, NetZero customers in major markets like Atlanta, Detroit, and Miami, who we did not reach before, can get a broadband service that allows them to download photos, video, music and large files at speeds up to 100 times faster than dial-up."

NetZero DSL broadband provides several levels of service from select partners. Download speeds range from 768 kbps up to 3.0 Mbps. Special introductory pricing starts at $17.95 per month for the first three months. Prices range from $19.95 to $34.95 per month thereafter depending on area of service. All plans require a 12-month commitment from customers and are backed by NetZero's 30-day money back guarantee.

NetZero DSL features easy do-it-yourself installation, award-winning virus protection from Norton AntiVirus, a pop-up blocker, email with spam protection and up to 5GB of email storage, a DSL modem with firewall, a free backup NetZero dial-up access account and free technical support.
